Cast: Madelaine Nunn
Sound Design: Christian Biko

FLICK is a darkly comic exploration of life, death, and the risky, messy choices we make along the way. Flick, a palliative care nurse, blurs the boundaries between care and desire when she becomes entangled with Mark, a patient with cancer who challenges her sense of responsibility and control.

Directing this one-woman show, I focused on shaping the rhythm, timing, and topography so the audience could gradually be brought into her world, allowing our not-so-reliable narrator to earn their trust. The performance required precision and generosity, creating a shared space where absurdity and discomfort coexist, where humour lands before the emotional weight is fully felt, and where the stakes Flick has yet to confront slowly come into view.
